I love reading these wordhurdle.co stories
3: is i believe the stewardship (or similar role) of the chiltern hundreds
Yes, I’m sure you’re right. And I think (4) is Owl’s House in the Hundred Acre Wood, so that would make the theme hundreds.
And (8) will be the Hundred Years War.
surprised to discover the hundred years war ranged as far south as that! somehow i imagined it all took place further north
I think (6) might be One Hundred Years of Solitude, but it’s been a while since I read it – sounds like the sort of thing that happened in it though.
Re (2) – there’s a saying that 100 miles is a long distance in Britain (or Europe) and 100 years is a long time in America, but I don’t know if that’s what they’re getting at.
I wonder if 2 is (not 100 but) a ton, imperial and US.
Edit link not working – should be “a ton, imperial and US”. (“What *is* a tons?”)

Phil – I think you’re very close but to fit with the theme it could be the imperial and US hundredweight.
7 refers to the Grateful Dead live album Hundred Year Hall recorded in the Hessian region of Germany in1972 and was the first album to be released by the band after Garcia’s death.
10 is ‘Your Hundred Best Tunes’ innit. (BBC Light programme / Radio 2 show of long standing but cancelled some years back. LPs of same name are now chazza shop staples too.) The chart topper is the duet from the Bizet opera.
#9 – yes, a cwt does work better. (In my defence a ton does colloquially = 100.) Sorry about the multiple posting.
