“Hi! We’re amusing pop scamps Rizzle Kicks and we’d like to thank everyone who sent in their votes for this year’s poll! We had a great response in the end (485 songs nominated!) and have very much enjoyed sifting through your ballots on Kat’s behalf, though we’re kind of narked that our track only got to number… well, see for yourself.”

I would’ve thought Last Friday Night, Down With The Trumpets, S&M, Judas, Changed The Way You Kiss Me, Witches Brew, Motivation and Born This Way would be certs for the top 50.
Surprised not to see “Gucci Gucci” do better! (And I wish I’d voted for “Sade” now)
LOVELY RIZZLE KICKS – I CUDDLE THEM
I was surprised at Born This Way’s relatively poor showing as well, but Gaga has definitely suffered from a split vote across many tracks (we certainly haven’t seen the last of her yet).
What’s the methodology Kat. But yes surprised by how low ver Rizzle Kicks were. We are going to get most of the Gaga album aren’t we…
Fucking “The City.” Everyone who voted for that should be rounded up and sent to Helmand Province for target practice.
#5 Methodology is SIMPLE but SECRET. However as you get further down the placings ‘mean’ less e.g. there is not a massive amount of difference between e.g. 79 and 75, but a reasonable amount between 79 and 51.
Surprised that someone else joined me in voting for “Hold It Against Me.” Not surprised that apparently only one person joined me in voting for “S&M,” as very few others can tell a good Rihanna song from a bad. (My other vote here was for “High High,” and just because I told you to listen to it doesn’t mean you did, right?) I feel that already my choices are doing surprisingly well.
(Am actually expecting only one or two more of mine to place, though maybe a couple others have an outside shot.)
“The City” was a 2010 single! Not that I would have voted for it anyway, even if I did vote for two others from that album
I voted for “High High” *and* “The City”, for what it’s worth (although that last was the Richard X remix; the original wouldn’t have made my top 20, though I like it).
I didn’t vote for The City, but it was bubbling under. First plane to Kabul it is, then.
#6 – did you send in a ballot yourself? I don’t think I received it and it wasn’t in the spam folder.
Noooooo “Sade” just missed the top 50 ;_;
Four of my votes down already…surprised JoJo’s “Marvin’s Room” wasn’t higher. Where has the #cassiefanclub vote gone?
Four of mine in the #97-51 band (Gucci Gucci, Crystalline, Novacane, Everything goes my Way – Metronymy’s English Riviera album is great BTW).
Am hoping this isn’t the last of Metronomy that we see – is probably my favourite album of the year, my problem was choosing which one to go for.
(and I’m also yet another person who needs exiling – what’s your problem with ‘The City’ exactly?)
I’m sure “The Look” will place higher.
Oh, I voted for “A1” as well, and I give it great stoopid love. Somehow didn’t notice it on this list. So a good run for me, though I’m sure I’ve got only one more to go.
#10 -“The City” was released on 14th March 2011
Pleased I wasn’t the only one moved by Tom and Keef yowling like a pair of melancholy coyotes on Last Leaf.
