The Village Voice…or Pitchfork?: barely a week after I start raving about their music section the VV goes all indie rock on me with a big double review of crypto-pop sensations Clinic and Icelandic hippies Sigur Ros, both of them bands which the ‘fork is, of course, mad for. There’s even the obligatory Radiohead hook to hang the article on to complete the Autum 2000 online retro vibe. Ryan Schrieber should sue!
Seriously, though, not a bad review. It still doesn’t make me want to hear the Sigur Ros album, and I still think the Clinic full-length was a disappointment after the great singles collection….but for Clinic, at least, this article does a decent job of explaining why people are getting into them so much.
