I clearly need to read more of Cook’s writing, as that is how I always thought The Fall should be written about, but had never read it/him before…

I was going to say a tremendous loss to British music writing, but it’s more a loss to writing, period.

Thank you for posting this, Mark, and for your vivid and inspiring memoir. (And YAY for his reversal on EOTH – I would be willing to go to the British Library to look it up.)
