(There is no nu-blogosphere, sillies. These people have mostly been going for ages in one form or another, it’s just that this befuddled old veteran hadn’t paid much attention until the roundtable stuff last week prompted him to start looking…)
Pretty Goes With Pretty: Thoughtful indie-rock fan who likes talking meta and discussing the issues around the music (I suspect I am rarely in agreement with him on the actual music).
The Blue In The Air: This is a familiar face – Marcello Carlin writing about “the greatest song ever written, as of today”. Not an MP3 blog but you’ll wish it was.
Marathonpacks: OK this one really has been around a while, hardly needs my attention and even I had heard the name, but I’m linking it here because his latest post (on the ‘fate of music blogs’) was so interesting.
People Listen To It and Dial M For Musicology: Representative of blogging music academics – I’m not always especially interested in what they’re talking about (music-wise) but there’s an enthusiasm in this microsphere which reminds me of days long gone by.
Now I just need to add them to the sidebar. It’s odd, I’ve been feeling really quite keen on music blogging lately, for the first time in….what….three years? (I’m not counting Popular, which is a writing project or a community building project depending on how I’m feeling at the time) I’ve been bubbling with formal ideas too, some of which might actually be carried out. (I’ve even been glancing over at the tarpaulin in the blogging garage which covers the rusting chassis of NYLPM!)
