I’m not a driver, but op-ed writers shifting into film critic mode — as happens a lot around films like ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ — seem to me to emit that bad-gear-change ‘crunk’ sound so familiar from my few disastrous driving lessons, none more loudly and horribly than J0hann Har1 of the Independent. Here the man who once claimed not to know who won or lost at Waterloo reveals that ‘five-year-old American children are more likely to recognise pictures of Ronald McDonald than George Washington or Jesus Christ‘ (I am truly down with the kids on this one), and tells us that ‘the corporation has existed in its current form for only 150 years’. Uh-huh.
