And the final will be…
Switzerland v Italy
Congratulations to Matt and Pete, commiserations to Alyson and Greg, both of whom produced performances that lit up this tournament. Switzerland powered through their semi, whereas Italy beat France by a single vote. Which of them will triumph? The final tracks go up on Thursday, and on Wednesday we take a look back over the tournament with the Europop 2008 Muxtape.
Not wanting to play mind games or anything – but look at the quality of the tracks I won’t be playing in the final:

A sticker book centric video!
Blimey that was close, kudos to France for making it such a thriller. I really like that track.
Not wanting to play mind games or anything, but I think I’ve had the tougher route to the final. A couple of real nailbiters and some fantastic opposition most of the way. Got a feeling a lot of managers played their best track against me, especially Greece.
I think it may have felt tougher for you Matt because your games were closer. Bearing in mind that I have had to play the winner of the Pop World Cup in my opening game, and faced the manager who won the Pop World Cup twice, as a newcomer to this competition – I feel that I have been significantly tested. But no doubt the final will be something special (if I can find a suitable Young Gods tune).
I would say you were the favourite going into the final, but then I have been the underdog in nearly all of my bouts and battled. Bring on the final, but don’t be surprised if a Ronaldo mickey is slipped to your top striker – or indeed if it goes to penalties.
It has just occurred to me that, due to being at Glastonbury, I won’t even hear your track or read any comments on the final until after it’s over. It’s like going into the ring blindfolded and wearing a Walkman oh hang on wrong sport.
It also means I won’t be able to vote for my own track argh.
SENT TO THE STANDS!
Is it not possible to vote with modern phonular technology, if not to hear the Swiss track?
When will the voting close? I’ll be at Glastonbury as well, will it still be open on Monday evening?
I think, because of the Glasto issue, I will keep it open until Tuesday lunchtime.
