What a let-down, eh readers? No Rock And Roll Fun explains why it’s a bad thing, and Mike Troubled-Diva is running a poll to find the best of the 1000 No.1s – through ILM I think, rather than his website, but his website is running a very entertaining 2004 countdown so go there anyway.
From my point of view the benefit is a nice spike in hits for Popular, whose readership has been climbing nicely as I start getting into songs people actually know. This is a bit nerve-racking, though, as suddenly the myriad errors and tin-eared judgements seem that little bit more glaring with people watching. On balance, of course, I love all my lovely new Popular readers, and will do my best to keep the workrate up. (Also: this)
