Rimpa school

a duck, by Sotatsu

This 'Decorative' group of artists wasn't much like a school in the usual Japanese sense, but more of a movement of artists seeing something in common, working together. It also threw up some of the most spectacularly versatile, original and dazzlingly talented artists in the history of art.

(These artists span many disciplines, and this site is being built in piecemeal fashion - it will be some time before the site properly reflects the range of important work produced by this group of artists in particular.)
