Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind

This may be the first comic I know of by an international movie director megastar - Hayao Miyazaki, most famous in the West for Spirited Away. What is remarkable, for someone taking on a second artform, albeit a fairly closely related one, is that he is magnificent at it - there are people who will tell you, not unreasonably, that this series is the best comic work ever. I find it a touch cramped at times, and its ecological message a little overbearing, but there are sequences as beautifully executed as anything I've seen, and if you like his movies, you're very likely to like this as well.
