Salaryman

This is a genre that doesn't get translated much, perhaps understandably. The corporate culture in Japan isn't quite like that anywhere else, and this genre doesn't exist elsewhere. There are serious strips extolling or examining the discipline and hard work and loyalty expected of office workers; and gag strips in a particularly minimal style mocking the situation, with a remarkable degree of consistency as to the characteristics assigned to each job role.
