Japanese Ghosts & Demons ed. Stephen Addiss

The exhibition this accompanies seems to have been poorly assembled. We get chapters on ghosts, demons and other such things, but there is also a chapter on the Taoist immortals - religious figures - and on satirical drawings of humans in animal form, which are in no sense a part of any supernatural beliefs. Still, lots of good stories and a load of fine repros, including lots by the greatest Japanese print artist on such subjects, Yoshidoshi.
