The Gardens of Japan by Teiji Itoh

The copy I read is an oversized (even by art book standards) hardback with lots of beautiful full- and double-page photos. This isn't a book from which to gather a history of gardens, as it rambles all over the place, but it says a good few interesting things along the way. Very nice if you already know the basics.
