Modern Ceramics

very modern: a 2001 vase by Miyashita Zenji

This section could be expanded almost without end, and perhaps it will be. For now, a few samplings will have to do. It's an enormously diverse area, with potters following old ways, others creating wares to traditional shapes but with modern decoration, others using old techniques for new forms, and many using ceramics as one branch of modern sculpture.
