Teahouses

Teahouses were often small huts set in a specially designed garden. They were frequently 9' or so square, and very simple, with a small door that guests crawled through, and an alcove for the display of a simple work of art, a calligraphy scroll or a flower arrangement, perhaps just a single flower. This is not to be confused with what are called 'teahouses' in the big city, which historically were classy brothels.
