Rikyu

Sen no Rikyu was Japan's greatest tea master, and his influence spread very widely. He was the key figure in defining the style of Zen tea gardens.

Returning to remarks I have made elsewhere on contriving artlessness, Rikyu once decided that the thoroughly swept garden didn't look natural enough, so went around shaking trees to make the right number of leaves fall off.
