Japanese Art and Design, edited by Joe Earle

A book to coincide with the '80s launch of the Victoria & Albert Museum's dedicated Japanese galleries. It's frankly rather dull, and the expertise is inevitably entirely distorted towards what they own, but there are some lovely pictures of ceramics, lacquerware, clothing and much more, and highly informed commentary on same - the approach is that of a museum rather than a normal art book.
