context: architecture > sourcesTokyo: Labyrinth City by Noriyuki Tajima & Catherine PowellAnother book where the appeal is lots of terrific big pictures of great buildings (only four are covered here), but the text is pretty serious and although there isn't much of it, it does leap into big ideas. Two of the architects are among my contemporary favourites - Itsuko Hasegawa and Hiroshi Hara are both covered on this site - and their buildings in particular are glorious. |
