HELMET – “Unsung”
Sounds like Black Sabbath – “Ironman”, to be exact. A bit faster (of course), and the guitars are extra-shiny, but Page Hamilton’s barking marches in step with Ozzy’s caterwauling. Thrown haphazardly in the mix with a bunch of modern rock songs (specifically, Saliva & System of a Down), the resemblance to Sabbath is more pronounced – that is, without Helmet, these kids would most likely not be where they are today. And, separated from the vocals (gee, what’s with the singing?), this could BE something from one of those kids.
