And that in these primaries and caucuses, more than ever, the candidates are appealing to the party’s supposed core: centrist Republicans like Milt Romney and John McCain are doing grotesque impersonations of Bible-spewing reactionaries, while mainstream Dem John Edwards is running a fair distance to the left of where he was four years back. Once the Convention is over, everything starts again, and Hil could easily dump the Dixie Chicks then along with a host of things she has been promising during the spring..
