No HEART = no credibility
“Alone” is a great, great (power?) ballad.
Reminding myself of “Make It With You,” I note the intro’s extreme similarity to “Who Knows Where The Time Goes.”
surely a picture of Alone is what you see when you look up “power ballad” in the dictionary?
This isn’t meant to be “TEH BEST BALLADS EVER” – Alone wd definitely have a shout (as would Phil Collins!) – just an erm examination of the form (or my diffuse definition of same with help from Tim and Steve).
Would I be right in thinking that most songs with the words “The Ballad Of…” in the title are not actually ballads as we understand them now?
o sød i forgot to pick up a cøpy — have they all gone?
Well I definitely need to check out that Simon Warner album properly now.
Great to see “I Keep A Close Watch” in there – the Music For A New Society version as well!
John Cale gives good ballad.
