I Hate MusicPost a comment • 685 views

Well put up an umbrella then, would of course be my first reaction. But careful perusal of the album in the remainder bin suggests your wetness does not come from the heavens. It does not even come from remaking Pink’s ‘Get The Party Started” twelve times on one album. No instead it appears to come from your nose. Someone must have misheard your neanderthal gruntings – unsurprising with that casiotone background to distract one – and thought that instead of Party Hard, you said Punch Me Hard. Bravo that man – if I were Queen he would have got an MBE.

The Euston Hexagon.

Pumpkin PublogPost a comment • 330 views

The Euston Hexagon. This was a post Christmas, pre-New Year pub crawl which dragged a good fifteen people to some lesser known pubs in the Euston Area. That was the plan. As it happened the timing meant a couple of the pubs were shut. The original plan was Head Of Steam, The Euston Flyer, Skinners Arms, The Norfolk Arms, Lord John Russel and Mabel’s Tavern (primarily for jukebox action). As it happened SKinners and the Lord John were shut, a last minute sub of The Boot (more of which later) made it up to five which is not strictly a hexagon. The late doors addition of the Dun-A-Ri (again more on which later) made it up to six but made more the shape of the breast cancer ribbon.

Much bouze was drunk and funw as had and the publog salutes those who joined in. Those (of us) who kept drinking til about 2 however are beyond help.

The Church Of Me on

The Church Of Me on Metal Box – this is COM at its absolute best, taking the usual ‘mumblemumbleclassicalbumofcourse’ line on PiL (why is it PiL rather than PIL btw?) and fleshing them out rather than taking them as read. You know it matters – be reminded, and vividly, of why.
