“What does ‘back door man’ mean?

“What does ‘back door man’ mean? asks Nanette? Well, yes, on the face of things it means anal sex. But it’s also a time-honoured metaphor for cheating – wanting to be “your back door man” means wanting to have a key to the back door of the house, the better to sneak in and give good lovin’. Surely a question for the Amp To Rock forum…

digital music weblog: of the several weblogs that have sprung up documenting the reluctant evolution of the recording industry, this is probably the best, with incisive summaries of relevant, well-chosen links.

A Pitchfork Review of the Cale/Conrad/etc. release

A Pitchfork Review of the Cale/Conrad/etc. release which we’ve been going on about so much here. A byline I don’t recognise, so probably the work of a new reviewer, one making a break with P-fork tradition by having the first two paragraphs of the review be about the record. And what’s this? All the rest of the review is about the record too! Dear me, must try harder. Aside from that, a fine summary of what the fuss re. this release is about.

(This entry has been edited so as to make sense. Apologies to Us Against Them and anyone else baffled by my hungover ramblings)

josh quotes this from a rec.music.classical thread:

Let’s do a thought experiment. You have sixty seconds in which to choose the woman with whom you will share the rest of your life and fortune. You must choose between two equally beautiful women to marry. The first is neatly attired and loves classical music and the ballet. The second has a ring through one of her nostrils, loves rock and rap, and prefers to spend her evenings making the rounds of discotheques. Whom do you marry?

I particularly like “neatly attired”.
