I don’t know if you’ve been watching newsnight over the past couple of weeks, but there has been intense controversy about them replacing the daily round-up of the markets (which always seemed like a haiku version of the shipping forecast to me) with the next day’s weather. Large amounts of this attention centred on the way Paxo and Esler were treating it, i assumed Paxo in particular hated it, “it’s April, what do you expect!” he barked over a four second flash of the map the other night.
So it was rather surprising to read his lament at the return of the markets on the newsnight site.
the only sensible answer to all this is to BRING BACK WEATHERVIEW (and suzanne charlton).
