Call me a pub elitist, but here comes the three weeks of hell. The three weeks when the pubs slowly fill with the punters who don’t usually go to pubs. Now I’m not sure what the knock on effect will be this year, previous years have seen overcrowding, bar queues going three or four deep exacerbated by complex large rounds with the Guinness ordered last and just bad bar technique. But I am thinking that these customers are exactly the type who are attracted to the All Bar Ones and so called ‘friendly’ pubs. So maybe my favourites, whilst also being excellent at customer service, will not be put under the same amount of pressure. Anyway, suffer the CHristmas songs, and the crowds for it all gets back to normal on the 26th December.
