LOOK! We’ve changed formats again*! Thanks to the mighty Podpress, not only is publishing this way easier for me, it integrates nicely into the FT site with a lovely inline player. I have tried quite hard to keep some continuity, so all the old rss URLs should be redirecting correctly, and the feed contains substantially the same info, with some bonus extra data.
Because this is a regular FT post, you can comment too, so if there are issues let me know.
*Again? Well early adopters here for Lesson Zero had to change the URL of the feed

I like it - the inline player is much quicker than the mp3 streaming. However on my LJ feed all the FT posts have appeared twice, once under the freakytrigger feed and once under the poptimismcast feed!
Is there a volume switch for it though? It seems v loud…
FT's Alan on July 28th, 2006
I *hope* that’s just a temporary artefact of my re-aligning the rss feeds on FT. last night the FT posts appeared in the poptimismcast feed, but this morning it’s righted itself. (at least on my LJ)
In fact the LJ feed of FT broke when we moved to Wordpress. i *thought* i had re-wired it properly, but it appears my .htaccess skeelz were left wanting. so FT posts will start appearing in the LJ feed once more. I don’t know how to redirect the LJ accounts touse the new “proper” feed addresses, but if anyone can i would be grateful

re loudness - starry was saying it was too quiet! (perhaps on earphone/ipod-clone that is). and don’t all computers have a volume switch these days? just macs then? ;-)
FT's Tanya Headon on July 28th, 2006
Serves you all right for having an Live Journal and posting about MUSIC!

My PC has a volume switch. Macs = indie.
Great stuff but one more thing:
- clicking “read more” stops the MP3player. So we should probably hide ALL tracks beneath “read more”, so as to preserve the element of surprise for those who don’t want to know and stop this happening to those who do.
FT's Alan on July 28th, 2006
I could hide the in-line player in the click-through full article (which will also help show number of hits)

I am the Lex of computers as obv I think PCs = rock (but not RoXoR) and that macs are proper pop. it is like bein a cpu-poptimist-mammal in an era of cpu-rock-dinosaurs
(deep down i know the reverse has better parallels, but that doesn’t make it right.)

What do you think the “i” on iPod stands for eh?
FT's Alan on July 28th, 2006
that’s just PC gone mad (DYS!!!!!!!)

Alan thinks Helen Love is Pop so not exactly an authority on this stuff.
FT's Alan on July 28th, 2006
I have never claimed Helen Love as proper pop. Except maybe when very drunk. ok, lots. But they are NOT proper pop, they are pop thru a variety of indie lens - which is why the likes of you, and well everyone else, hate it. they have made v pop reckids, but are not in themselves pop.
the ramones ARE pop tho.
FT's Pete Baran on July 28th, 2006
Duh. The Ramones = pop.
Writing records about the Ramones = not-pop.
Soz, you may kick me later.
