UK chart hits year by year – Spotify playlists

These playlists are painstakingly put together using the data from the mighty Polyhex database documenting the chart run of every song to ‘chart’ at 75 or higher.

The equally mighty IVY playlist generator saves a lot of time in the process. And if you benefit from these playlists both of these resources would certainly benefit from a donation :)

Eventually there should be a playlist for every year from 1953 (including the few weeks of chart hits from 1952’s last couple of months) and the present. Happy listening!

As I’d forgotten I’d put these here but this page does show up in the sidebar I should point out this ‘catch ’em all ‘project is still in progress and there has been a playlist created for every year between 1952 and 2015. I try (tho not quite well enough I fear) to keep the tracklists updated here: http://ghostfood.tv/music/ukcharthits-2010-2015.html (you can select other time periods from there).

Most years are more or less complete with 1983’s list now even including some singles peaking between 76 and 100 on the chart as archived on officialcharts.com (I don’t include anything that may ONLY have appeared on NME charts…YET) – the webpage lists to list every charting single (including AA sides and two tracks per EP) as well as indicate which ones AREN’T available on Spotify (damn you Slade etc.).
