R Kelly has made some great singles lately, and the whole pissing on underage school girl thing has been taken half as a joke and half as part of a long standing R n R tradition (cf Bill Wyman, Jerry Lee Lewis) and he looks like he’ll walk away from this mess.
Michael Jackson has not had a great single in years. the molesting boys thing has been viewed as deeply perverse (is it the age, race or gender of his victims that makes him seem more perverse, who dictates this kind of taxonomy?), and he is so fucking weird in a way that seems unprecedented.
So what will happen when both of them work together ? Not musically, it will be a generic r and b ballad, but culturally ?
