Alan Lomax Dies

Alan Lomax Dies
Alan Lomax,The Music Collecter who saved the entire history of American Folk Music on his reel to reel, has died at the age of 87 at a Sarasota Flordia Nursing Home. This was the man who recorded not only the Carter Family, Woody Gutherie and Ledbelly but found Murded Ballads from the Appalachians, Pow Wow Music and Immigrant songs from the tennemants of New York to the fields of California. Lets talk about this heroic currator. (New York Times Story, reg required.)
