E-Mails from artists

E-Mails from artists are an occupational hazard/blessing of running a music weblog. Mostly they’re from people I don’t know asking for reviews or mentions of a new CD. Very occasionally, though, they’re from someone shockingly unexpected. Such as, for instance, when the man who - in essence - helped invent ‘undie’ hip-hop emails you a couple of links to his recent projects. The RAMM:ELL:ZEE was recording tongue-twisting art-hop 12″s as far back as 1983 and has been crossmixing graffiti, verbal and performance art ever since. That link sends you to an online gallery which exhibits his stuff - this sends you to a graffiti art project - and this is the guy’s own website. So there you go - even NYLPM is susceptible to spam from the right sources!
