Gareth has been listening

Gareth has been listening to Daft Punk’s celestial “Digital Love” and Weezer’s “Only In Dreams” (”our generation’s great make-out anthem” quoth Jimmy the Mod). So, indeed, have I, and his comparison between the two makes for interesting reading. I’m not sure how far I’d follow it, though - it’s mostly a function of the sonics, but Weezer’s messy, frustrated rock romanticism seems way more earthbound than Daft Punk. Gareth’s central point - that ‘irony’ and “Digital Love” are not on speaking terms - I agree with 100%.

And speaking of “Digital Love”, it’s getting the Radio On treatment here.
