BRITPOP — A Short History (in capsule form) of British Pop Music: Every couple of years I think about updating my History of UK Indie, tinkering around a bit more and expanding some sections - there needs to be lots more on Factory Records, more on Goth, and a lot more on the post-Belle And Sebastian resurgence in what you might jokily call “roots indie”.

I’m always inspired to do this when I search the web for any kind of general history of alternative music - basically, there’s nothing out there. The search occasionally leads you to other gems, though, like this piece on British pop music in the sixties: an excellent factual companion to Robin Carmody’s thinkpieces on the topic.

    There isn’t any information about Britpop here! I came on to do some homework and all I find is a peice of shitty crap about crap! Tom, you obviously have nothing better to do than fill the internet with your crap about crap!
