Josh

Josh gives me a telling-off for calling Frank Zappa “the Bloodhound Gang with a PhD”, and I plead guilty as charged. To be honest, I’d hardly know - every bit of Zappa I’ve heard, from his groundbreaking work with the Mothers to his high-classical stuff, has turned me off absolutely and I’ve barely listened to the lyrics. There’s no substance in my quip, but the dismissive tone stands, and yes, I am probably a philistine. Or rather, what Zappa was reaching for and no doubt achieving in his music is absolutely alien to what I look for in the music I listen to.
