c/o Josh, red balloon is a site where people post mixtapes they make on various themes. Now as you imagine I like this as an idea BUT i) as Josh says, most of the mixes are pretty unvarying, ii) there are no track-by-track comments at all, which are the absolute best things about mixtapes (well, about ones you can’t hear!) iii) it is becoming apparent that there are too many damned indie-poppers on the web. Still, looking at the site at least gets you thinking about all the great tapes you’ve made in your time.
