Freaky Trigger and the Lollards of Pop – Series 3, Week 15

Lollards Podcast6 comments • 236 views

After last weeks skip week, Freaky Trigger finishes its epic run with a special double length episode coming LIVE from Glastonbury (sort of). Pete Baran is joined by Nick Dastoor, Magnus Anderson, Cecily Nowell-Smith and Mark Sinker to talk festivals and the end of the world. Which to some is the same thing. Music from Bowie, Young Marble Giants, The The, and many many more. Thank you for listening!

Two hour long podcasts here so we can maintain quality.

Note, when I say two parts to maintain quality, I am of course refering to the fidelity of the sound, rather than any of the nonsense contained within the show!

only half a decade younger than cis but did spend most of teens assuming (& insisting to others) that we were all going to DIE owing to global warmin’ & nuclear power and bombs and things. i forget the actual combination that i was pretty certain was going to occur. on the other hand, my younger brother appears to be totally unaware of this sort of thing so possibly it wore off as soon as people stopped being born during the cold war.

also trufax re: reading festival. it also sends out some kind of hormonal signal that gives everyone below the age of 25 in the area a ruddy awful hangover for five days whilst it occurs, due to the thirteen-year-old hangover offsetting, i assume.

This intrigues me, the belief in post cold war kids worrying about nuclear war. I have to admit I stopped worrying about it* the moment the Berlin Wall came down.

Have been unable to find any pictures of Judy Smog Monster on line yet.

I realised when I got home the other reason why I as a tiny was so convinced the world was going to end due to human error: CHERNOBYL.
