Freaky Trigger and the Lollards of Pop – Week 7

The latest, greatest installment of Freaky Trigger’s adventures on the electromagnetic spectrum, as originally broadcast between 12 and 1pm on Resonance 104.4FM.  Featuring, among other things: Agatha Christie’s fear of zips, the peculiar customs of New York bar goers, euphemisms for food, and a lot of talking over three different versions of Cobrastyle.

apologies! you can think of it as “walla”

I like the talking over/under records thing. You get more records in, and this is about the first time we’ve actually talked ABOUT pop music.

This is my favourite show so far, even if I say so cos I was in it. I think it is the most educational of our shows, with lots of newly uncovered facts.

it is KILLING me that they turned off “love gets in the way” with a full minute left to go

(i am told, however, that Ruth Barnes apologised for that on her show!)

yes, she did! [haha and then her show was full of technical hitches (normally it's fine) and after about 40 minutes the radio signal cut out entirely. I figured you were having your revenge.] Ruth also promised to further investigate the artist concerned.

btw I agree with Pete re talking over records. In case it wasn’t clear (I don’t understand your reply to my first post above) I meant that I couldn’t hear a word you were saying while the records were playing; they were mixed at too high a volume. So if this is going to become a regular feature of the show, you’ll need to sort out your levels ;-)

I found it funny that Dame Agatha came up this week as I was thinking only the other day that if I was ever a guest Lollard, she would probably be the subject I’d pick to talk about.

also, cobrastyle is based on that kid rock song anyway, isn’ it?

I dunno what the backing music is but the vocal is from “Press Trigger” by Mad Cobra.
