re Gabrielle ‘Bob Dylan cover’, it was merely that ‘Rise’ bears similarity to ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’ tune-wise.

Incidentally, comments on Ernie should be saved until the entry goes up next week!

I’m pretty sure that that kat was served becherovka in prague. that’s what they always tried to force on me as a cold cure.

The sound levels could well be what our engineer was doing under the desk in the first twenty minutes or so of the show. Last time I spent ages trying to equalise the board to no seeming effect, this time I didn’t bother (it being beyond my ken).

Engineer had a bit foa mare yesterday to be fair. And well done Carsmile in guessing this weeks Video On The Radio!

Next week they let me loose from the desk…

I got Take On Me after the first clue, but since you needed one of those Young Person’s Texting Things to enter, I could not.

I have forgotten what all my favourite one-liners on the show were now. Next week I shall take notes to remind me.

Rise doesn’t just sound like KOHD, it actually samples it.

But then the original version of Dreams sampled Fast Car by Tracer Chapman (and also contained the lryics “Dreams, can come true, look here baby I’m in the nude”).

That might have been it! I was in no fit state to pay attention but it did make a brilliant chaser ontop of my Lemsip :)

Ah yes! Kenneth Baker’s Keyboard Playing. Is this the same bloke as the politician?

I love the cheek of this webpage (scroll tot he bottom):

“Well actually it’s two covers; an amalgam of Tracey Chapman’s “Fast Car” and Gabrielle’s “Dreams”. I can’t take credit for the idea of combining those two songs into one, I heard another artist do it once. “

    YES: GABRIELLE!!!!
