LAZY TOWN: WARNING
Casual flipping in the morning is unavoidable when BBC Smugfast is doing a story on a cat having open heart surgery and GMTV is having a hard hitting Detox Diet Scambusting yawnarama. So you are tired, and your brain has not woken up yet. Still, this is no excuse for the day-glo filth thrown at us in the form of Lazy Town on BBC2.
I cannot describe Lazy Town, because really the only way to understand this hyper-energetic creepfest is to watch it. But I have put a warning above, as every five second burst of it I catch disturbs me to such a degree that I feel physically ill. Why not go to the Lazy Town site, where there are videos to disgorge yourself with. I believe the aim of the show is to make kids do more exercise, though how they do this with a pinkhaired girl, lots of unpleasant rubber puppets and strange men with stick on chin-prostheses leaping around I don’t know. Perhaps it encourages you to run away from the screen.
That said, I can’t help but be drawn to it for these five second chunks of “what-the-fuck”-itude. And this morning I was treated to a hi-energy (everything in the show is hi-energy but I am talking about the music here) song which would make Scooter sound sluggish. The perfect program to pair with Extra-Sugar Frosties with Glucose Power Rocks in it. For the rest of us, it’ll burn out your retinas.

How fantastic and hot is Magnus Scheving?! The best thing to come out of Iceland(or anywhere else for that matter). I could spend all day just watching him doing keepy-uppies and one armed, one legged push-ups.What a guy!! He keeps us housewives from going insane!!!!

Lazytown is incredible and a miracle. It helped me quit drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. It also helped me curb my sex addiction and saved my marriage, and now I don’t beat my children. I don’t know where I would be without this show. Probably in jail or dead. I owe everything to the show Lazytown.

Can someone controlling this website please do something about the above person who is so completely rude and disgusting? Maybe you can try to screen the comments before they are posted or prohibit certain words from being printed? It’s a disgrace (unfortunately that person is probably American, as I am, and I am embarrassed to admit that someone like that would post such filthy comments on a site that children may read. I’m so fed up with the American behavior I may move to Iceland. It seems like an ideal place to live, beautiful landscape and beautiful people. Thank you Mr. Sheving for your neverending energy, it motivates me (I am also 43) to move my body and it encourages my children (as do I) to do the same. And as for Mr. Ridley, please keep your filthy comments to yourself.

Lazytown is a great kids show. It does encourage them to eat right and to be more active. Kids will spend some time in fron of the tv, and we must include positive elements for them to watch. If anyone thinks perversion is going on here then they are probably perverse themselves. There is nothing that indicates that there are sexual overtones involved. It is just a fun show. I enjoy what Magnus Scheving has done and is still doing as a motivator for young people.

Gwen - I generally delete abusive comments on this thread when I see them, because I’m aware we’re linked to on a LazyTown site and this post does appear on google so I know children are reading.
