I consciously tried to include more webcomics in my entry this time, but I still skewed towards print, and I had no manga.

I didn’t read a lot of DC last year. Omega Men has generated a lot of good word of mouth in end-of-year lists, so I might give that a go. Like everyone else I read a lot of Image. My Marvel intake was on the wane but seems to be up again post-Secret Wars, so the relaunch worked on me, at least.

I read One-Punch Man, but it didn’t make my top 20. I know people who’d put it at number 1 without hesitation, though. As you say, the deadpan stuff is great, I think maybe I’ve just gone off battle scenes.

I read a preview of Material, decided to tradewait it because it would no doubt reward a reread, and then forgot to get it when it came out. Whoops.

My favourite single issue of the year was probably the issue of Transformers vs GI Joe where they suddenly replaced the Kirby pastiche with Miller pastiche. Not that Miller is better than Kirby (especially for comics based on ’80s toys), but I was impressed that Scioli and Barber can do both. Their commentary pieces in the back are always good reading, for any fan of craft discussion.
