This is my favourite Christie novel. I’ve read it over and over. But I have no problems with a BD version. Indeed given that the story has been adapted many times, including by Christie herself into a stage play (with new happy ending) and the title has also been changed and changed again over the years to suit the politics of the day*, a faithful-to-the-original looking comic strip edition is something I think we should cherish.

*My favourite ‘lost in translation’ howler: “Indian Island, eh? There’s a nigger in the woodpile”

There was a big rush of them in France in 2004 but they still seem to be coming out over there. The last one published was Le Crime D’Halloween in 2007.

The UK editions of the BDs are still coming out. Cover style is trying for a ‘grown up’ design-y feel like this. Saul Bass sort of thing, eh?
