Thanks very much for the kind words, Tom - I've been a fan from way back. I'm grappling with the issues you raise myself, but part of the point is as an exercise, to see how you can possibly stay readable and even interesting while going through the discography.

And Phil, I do the looping thing too, although my entries take so long to write what with goofing off that I usually get through the damn things ten times or so.

Thanks for the link; I enjoyed your rundown of my blog, and the other song-by-songs.

>The blog maybe leans too heavily on the lyrics

I should bring this up in my FAQ now that you mention it. I AM a musician, but not much of one. I'm more a writer...a reader...I like music, but I'd be foolish to say I could discuss it on nearly the same level as I can discuss writing. Which is why I tend to focus on the more literary aspects of the songs. Trust me, if I wrote about the music, my vast ignorance would blind you.

>I like the way the entries sometimes read like they’re written in real time as the songs play

Wow, good catch. That's exactly what I do, by the way...I loop the song in the background as I write. Not that I ever thought someone would catch wise to it...but it's funny to see that someone did.

>I like the way the writer is unashamed by his occasional bafflement.

Thanks. Talking Heads have dozens of songs that you'd really have to fabricate a lot to make sense out of...but that doesn't mean there's not something deeper there worth discussing. I just make it perfectly clear that these are my interpretations...and that I'd love to hear others'.

I'm really quite glad I never got past Pablo Honey in my 'write-about-every-Radiohead-song' project of 2003. Unemployment there, marvellous.
