Nice even review, although I didn't think the 'message of hope' at the end was clumsy - I was actually quite moved by it, and though it went quite organically into a story about a village both protecting and punishing itself. But I felt I should mention that the DVD sleeve notes reveal a whole 35 minutes of cut material, including scenes that resolve or at least support the 'fire falls' and 'possessed Cooper' threads. Oh, I've just noticed that you wrote this post nearly a year ago, to the day, so you probably won't read this. Ah well. Have a nice weekend.
