Popular Comments Box Policy

As of today, I’ll be moderating the Popular comments boxes more rigorously. I’ll be deleting flaming posts, as well as posts intended to justify flaming and rudeness. What qualifies as flaming and/or rudeness is my decision - or in the words of the sage, “My gaff, my rules”. As a general rule, though, arguing with an opinion - mine or another commenter’s - isn’t a flame; dismissals or personal attacks (even when they accompany valid argument) are. Random angry googlers add to the gaiety of the nation and will rarely be deleted unless they mutate into trolls.

One-sentence summary: JUST BE POLITE OK?

I’m not doing this to target or silence individual posters - if I wanted to do that, I’d simply ban them, and I have no intention of banning any of the contributors who have made this project so enjoyable to do. But in order for it to stay enjoyable, I want the comments box environment to be a friendly one: otherwise my motivation for writing new entries flags dramatically.

Thanks to everyone who’s commented and followed the blog so far.
