To me, the interesting thing to figure out - and I don't know how you'd do it - is WHO still actually buys singles. Given how easy it is to "find" music for free now, I have to believe that sales actually only reflect popularity among certain social group(s). The odd reissue's alright, but it's about what's happening now. And the idea that the charts should be "Randomised" is, to say the least, bizarre. I do, sort of, understand what they're getting at, though. It would be interesting to watch random tunes leap to the top of the chart simply because they were in a film that was on last night.
