Yay Google! They were called Hardware and had a lightning bolt design and a computer keypad tread. The ad involved the kid getting sucked into a video game Tron-style.

Rob, i believe they were Pathfinders and had compass in the heel, though that may have been 1970′s.

i loved the foot-measuring device! i liked the snug metallic feel of it on my foot and hoped that the shoe wd feel similar

in machynllyth in days gone by (ie the early 60s) there was a shoeshop with an X-RAY MACHINE to see if yr footbones were weird or not

I’ve been wracking my brains trying to remember what the equivalent Clarks boys’ shoe with accompanying action-packed fantasy advert was called. Looks like prestolovesvarla is going through the same agony – they seem to have been erased from interweb history.

A look at the Clarks website reveals they now have kids’ styles called ‘bovverd’ and ‘so unfair’. HOW TIMES CHANGE etc.
