We Always Knew Beth Ditto Was Cool!

Good to see the NME catching up with us, it’s over four years since Tom and I saw The Gossip in Oxford, but the main reason for Beth’s coolness was her performance at the late lamented King of Corsica karaoke night, at the end of that tour, so here for your delectation and delight is her storming version of Son of a Preacher Man (with various FT staffers shouting the odds in the background!)

Also the cover star of yesterday’s Grauniad Weekend magazine (where the ‘coolest’ tag was again used).

Was impressed with the Gossip on Jonathan Ross, but having seen the Grauniad feature, are you SURE she’s not really Matt Lucas?

(I can hear Emma calling people a bunch of bastards in the background in that recording. A wonderful memory…)

I fear mine and Sarah’s Paranoid Android will never get this type of reverential treatment (or indeed the cover of the Guardian’s magazine).

the combination of the NME and you saying she is cool is surely enough to negate any such rating.

(yes emma and YOU are the two clearly audible voices, and possibly Tom as well, how surprising ;))
