New Powerpuff Girls series (via Newsarama’s blog) - the American PPGs animation may have been cancelled, but the girls have been picked up by Japanese TV, who have turned them into weapon-wielding teenagers! The powerpuff eyes remain intact, though, and the temptation to make Buttercup into a BIG GOFF has been at least partially resisted. In further news, Professor Oak and Mojo Jojo are still around, there’s the opportunity for romance with a young boy, there’s a pet dog, and Mayor Mayor’s secretary has acquired a head - though not a face. Not exactly one for the purists, but I’m glad to see the characters living on in whatever form (and it’s got to be better than Powerpuffs fanfic…right?)
