Probably one of the classiest album covers ever devised. My maths workbook was covered with Unknown Pleasures style doodles which felt so engaging and therapeutic to absentmindedly scrawl while algebra sailed over my head during double maths. Oh, the irony!

Peter Saville was the only one behind suggesting this to be the cover of Unknown Pleasures.

The cover is an reversed image of CP 1919's radio pulses swiped from the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy. I doubt Curtis even came up with this - it would more likely to have been Bernard if any member of the band. Peter Saville and Chris Mathan were also credited.

Still funny though.

Actually I think it is a genius album cover. Most likely a graphical depiction (x/y/and Z axes) of the amplitude of each frequency over time. And that picture is beautiful, and happens to be on a bunch of T-shirts sold at Nordstrom(???). Every girl I have seen wearing it hasn't has a fucking clue who Ian Curtis was... sad.

wow, these comments are a bit extreme.
its only a light hearted joke right? not hilarious, but not offensive to anyone in anyway whatsoever. Iam a big Joy Division fan, i didnt have a problem with it... I giggled a bit, but its not very well executed so, it aint that funny really. but i think the point has been missed on a few people! :)

You really are a tragic case. I'm guessing too much Marilyn Manson, right? I'm also guessing that you're about as likely to buttfuck someone with modified housecleaning equipment as you are to have a valid opinion.

Now fuck off and get a sense of humour and perspective you pointless little crudsucker.
