The Three Poshest People In The World

FT8 comments • 2,407 views

Not in the habit of reading the Sunday magazine in the News Of The World I have missed out on Diana and WWII commemorative plates, and napkin rings of the Pharoahs. Nevertheless stumbling across this august pamphlet yesterday, I was astounded to see an interview with Man At V&A Laurence Llewelyn Bowen on the subject of poshness. In particular this quote:

Q: Who are the three poshest people you can think of.

A: Dolly Parton: Because she has all her own skin
Charlotte Church: Because she eats crisps
Batman: Because he has great flair for interior design.

I need make no more comment. At all. Indeed I used up all the air for my comments on this nonsense on a three hour train journey. Feel free however to astoundedly comment forever on this subject.

It wasn’t the first football record by a long way, but “Back Home” ticks all the genre’s traditional boxes. Rousing tune graspable by fans between 8 and 80 – yes. Heavy involvement by actual players – yes. Doughty message of hope – oh yes.
