Virgin vixens - a field guide

Virgin vixens - a field guide: “it might be exhilarating to under-10s and to paedophiles who recently voted Spears the “girl you’d most like to see in a porn movie”, but there’s little of interest to anyone else” - Spears is, what, 18? How then can people who fancy her be paedophiles? (Sad and, by definition, wankers, to be sure) I’m not usually so pedantic, but there are some words too strong to get bandied around as glib popcrit insults - fascist is one, this is another. And apart from that false note the article’s a lazy waste of space. (And incidentally, no, I don’t fancy Britney - too androidlike to be sexy.)

Plug and play

Plug and play: “I can’t turn on the TV without hearing Moby. I just go ker-ching, it’s Moby yet again…” - John McGrath, head of Mute Publishing. Interesting article on the bald, safe one’s current ubiquity. Another quote: “The people picking pop for ads tend to be hip young dudes with strong opinions about music and unconventional tastes, who spent last year listening to Death In Vegas and Moby” Mmmm.
